In 2025, the Tower of London will honor the 80th anniversary of World War II's end with a moving display of 30,000 ceramic poppies, reminiscent of the 2014 installation. From May to November, poppies will form a 'wound' at the Tower, symbolizing the scars of the Blitz. The display will open on 6th May, leading up to VE Day on 8th May, and will culminate on 11th November for Armistice Day. Portions will be visible to the public without admission fees, and the poppies will return to the Imperial War Museums post-exhibit.
The upcoming Tower of London poppy display will feature 30,000 original ceramic poppies, commemorating the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II.
The installation, set to resemble a 'wound' at the heart of the Tower, will flow across the lawn with poppies forming a crater and ripples outward.
Opening on 6th May, the display coincides with the 80th anniversary of VE Day and will run until Armistice Day on 11th November.
After the display, the poppies will be returned to the Imperial War Museums' collection following their poignant tribute to wartime sacrifice.
