This summer, Richmond Council has approved Raver Tots to headline a family-friendly rave in Old Deer Park for three days. Scheduled for August 29 to 31, the weekend will feature a film-themed event with a live orchestra and a variety of performances, culminating in an open-air dancefloor event rich with entertainment and food. Despite concerns from local residents regarding a permanent license that could be transferred to others, the council has given Park Live Events the requisite permissions to hold these gatherings annually, addressing potential issues with measures set by the organisers.
Peter Willan, representing Old Deer Park Working Group, expressed the concerns of some residents regarding the risks associated with the permanent licensing of events, emphasizing the potential for increased uncertainty over time.
Edward Chaplin, agent for Park Live Events, reassured the Licensing Committee that there would be measures in place to address all concerns, stating confidently that the events would proceed without causing issues.
