Vince Dilig, a 25-year-old from Ashstead, ran the London Marathon in a 62cm by 62m Domino's cardboard costume, aiming to finish in 3 hours and 15 minutes. This unique outfit garnered cheers and questions from spectators. He humorously refueled with garlic and herb dip from his helmet, stating it was motivational. Although he had previously finished two marathons, this marked his first attempt in fancy dress to add a challenging twist to his running journey. He trained for seven months without alcohol to prepare for the race.
When asked about his bizarre choice of running gear, he said: "Nothing gives me the inspiration to run like a Domino's pizza. So, I thought, why not?"
Vince said: "I wanted to push myself out of my comfort zone. It was a challenge to get over the finish line when I first started, but now I'm more seasoned..."
Vince noted: "People won't remember my time, but they will remember me if I'm wearing a pizza box. I've had so many high fives..."
On his training, Vince shared: "I spent seven months training for the 26.2 mile run and haven't had any alcohol since New Year's Eve."
