London Northwestern Railway has launched a new fleet of electric Class 730/2 trains from Euston station, increasing passenger capacity by 20%. Manufactured by Alstom in Derby, the fleet consists of 36 five-carriage trains with a total of 180 carriages. Initially operating on routes between London Euston and Northampton, these trains will also serve the Trent Valley line later this year. Each five-car Class 730/2 has 406 seats, significantly higher than the Old Class 350 models. Maintenance for the fleet will occur at the upgraded Bletchley depot in Buckinghamshire, which has undergone extensive renovations.
The newly launched fleet of Class 730/2 trains increases passenger capacity by 20%, offering significantly more seating compared to the older Class 350 models.
Developed by Alstom in Derby, the new electric trains will enhance services between London Euston and key stations including Northampton, Crewe, and Lichfield.
