A suspected gas explosion occurred at a house in east London, prompting a swift emergency response involving six fire engines and approximately 40 firefighters. The incident was reported shortly before 05:00 BST on Dumont Road, Stoke Newington. London Fire Brigade commander Darren McTernan urged motorists and pedestrians to avoid the area during the earlier investigation. Although the situation was brought under control by 05:40, a cordon remains, and several local roads, including Stoke Newington Church Street, are closed to facilitate ongoing inquiries.
