"Husband-and-wife team Hakeem and Zura started cooking together when grounded in Morocco during the pandemic, and on returning to London, it evolved into the Duda Diner concept, their love letter to Malaysia. After popping up with it all over town, the pair have now found a permanent home for Duda Diner in Nunhead, taking over cafe Goodcup on Thursday to Saturday evenings."
""Our food is rooted in memory and feelings. Those moments when a dish makes you pause, smile and reach for more. Duda isn't just food; it's a rhythm, a hum of joy in the kitchen and at the table. It's like we're entertaining you in our own home and we want Nunhead to feel that spirit every time they dine with us.""
Duda Diner is a permanent Malaysian family-style restaurant in Nunhead operated by husband-and-wife team Hakeem and Zura. The concept began during pandemic travel delays in Morocco and grew from London pop-ups into a fixed residency at cafe Goodcup on Thursday to Saturday evenings. The menu draws on family recipes, Malaysian roadside-stall dishes and the couple's reinterpretations, featuring items such as lamb satay skewers, mee goreng mamak, fish head curry, char kuey teow, cockles rendang and a Duda burger with dry-aged beef and Sarawak peppercorn sauce. The venue opens on 10 October 2025 at 44 Nunhead Green.
