Greenwich Park has welcomed a new herd of eight fallow deer after their relocation to Richmond Park in 2021. The Royal Parks announced that these deer now inhabit a renovated paddock with improved access to woodlands and wildflower plantings, benefiting local wildlife. As they adapt to their new environment, park rangers have indicated the deer may not be readily visible to park visitors during their settling-in period. This reintroduction follows the prior relocation aimed at protecting the herd during community facility renovations.
The reintroduction of deer to Greenwich Park signifies a commitment to enhancing wildlife habitats while allowing these animals to thrive in a renovated environment.
Park rangers noted that while the new fallow deer herd settles in, they may not be easily visible to visitors for the next few weeks.
