A new map shows where people get robbed the most on Oxford Street

Recent data reveal that the areas surrounding Oxford Circus and Tottenham Court Road tube stations are rampant with thefts, especially phone snatching. The City of Westminster had the highest number of thefts in London in 2024, totaling 66,623 incidents. A newly created map by Iain Agan, a Metropolitan Police data scientist, pinpointed the exact locations of these thefts along Oxford Street, highlighting places such as the Primark store and other nearby spots as major robbery zones.
Recent data from the Office of National Statistics revealed that in 2024, the City of Westminster was the worst place in London for phone snatching and other kinds of theft, with a whopping 66,623 thefts taking place over the year.
A new map using police open data shows that the highest density of robberies happens around the Primark store, near Tottenham Court Road station, and Great Portland Street, just a few metres from Oxford Circus station.
