Failures across multiple agencies contributed to the murder of Zara Aleena, who was killed as she walked home in east London. Jordan McSweeney killed the law graduate just nine days after being released from prison. Ms Aleena died from a blunt force head injury and neck compression.
McSweeney, the perpetrator, was handed a life sentence for the murder and sexual assault of Zara Aleena. Despite this, he won a Court of Appeal bid to reduce the minimum term of his sentence.
