You can ride an historic art deco tube train in London in September
Briefly

Transport for London is celebrating its 25th anniversary alongside 200 years of British railways by offering rides on a restored 1938 art deco tube train. This event will occur over one weekend in September, specifically on the 5th, 6th, and 7th. The restored trains will operate along the Metropolitan line, featuring historical carriages that were significant in tube history. Ticket options include single and return journeys, with the first and last rides available for singles. Expert guides will provide information throughout the journey, contributing to a unique historical experience for attendees.
The 1938 stock is not only gorgeous to look at, it was also the first tube carriage to hold all of its electrical equipment beneath the floor, meaning it was more compact.
To celebrate TfL's 25th birthday and 200 years of British railways, TfL is offering a unique chance to ride a restored 1938 art deco tube train this September.
Trips will take place on September 5, 6, and 7, operating between Amersham and Harrow-on-the-Hill, with single and return ticket options available.
The restored carriages are historical artefacts, running for a limited time and featuring expert guides and a souvenir info leaflet during the journey.
