Loraine White's life was drastically altered following a moped accident that left her with significant injuries and chronic pain. Although she received a legal settlement of about 95,000, it has provided little relief from her daily suffering. Living in a council home with steep stairs has become increasingly unbearable, and she expresses frustration at the lack of support, including a promised walk-in shower that was never delivered. Formerly active, she now struggles with basic movements, highlighting the profound, ongoing effects of her injuries on her life.
"I used to go to the gym, I used to do Pilates," she explained, but those activities were now too difficult. "If I'm on the floor I can't get up from the floor..."
"The worst thing for me is living here. I can't do the stairs any more, they're so steep," she explained. "It's making my life hell living here now. I can't bear it, I'm in tears."
