Wizz Air is launching long-haul routes with its Airbus A321XLR, starting flights from London to Jeddah in March at significantly lower fares than competitors.
The new A321XLR, with an extended range, allows for previously unprofitable routes, leveraging high-density all-economy cabins to attract price-sensitive travelers.
Wizz CEO József Váradi remarks on evolving passenger tolerance, stating, '15, 20 years ago, I thought three hours would test passenger tolerance... you kind of suffer the pain...'
Ticket prices from London to Jeddah start at about £135 (about $180) one-way, significantly less than British Airways, making Wizz Air's offering very competitive.
