Will the Thames really be swimmable by 2034? City Hall has issued an important update

"Every year, people die by going into the water, in the tidal Thames... In 2023, I think there were 31 deaths in the tidal Thames, from people going in when they shouldn't have gone in, or accidents, etc."

"Powerful tides running at around five miles an hour will overpower even the strongest swimmers. The PLA is warning that the Thames is the UK's busiest inland waterway, with more than 20,000 ship movements across it every year."
