Drivers and passengers have recently complained about loud screeching noises. The Aslef union said the noise was the worst it had ever been and drivers were driving slowly over some sections to protect their hearing.

LU has introduced more rail-grinding teams at 60 sites as part of their efforts to lessen noise levels from rail pitting on the Victoria line.
Noise levels on the Victoria line peaked at 112.3 decibels, comparable to a music concert; measures are being taken to reduce this for the safety of commuters.
