West London restaurant fined after HUNDREDS of cockroaches found inside
Briefly

Harlington Tandoori in west London was fined over £22,000 after inspectors discovered a severe cockroach infestation, prompted by a customer complaint in September 2023. Despite previous convictions for hygiene violations, including a rat infestation in 2018, the restaurant failed to address ongoing cleanliness issues. The manager, Joshua Money, received a prohibition order preventing him from managing any food business for 18 months. The council emphasized the restaurant's continuous neglect of basic hygiene standards, jeopardizing public health, leading to substantial fines being imposed on both the restaurant and its manager.
The court heard how the alarm was first raised when a customer complained about a cockroach crawling across their table in September 2023.
Cllr Eddie Lavery stated this is a shocking case, where despite a previous conviction and multiple improvement notices, basic cleanliness standards were consistently ignored.
