""Tomos is a player we have rated very highly for a long time, and we believe he will be an outstanding addition to our squad," Saracens said in a 25 December statement. "He is a world-class operator, and we are hugely excited to see him pull on a Saracens shirt next season." Williams, 30, said: "I'm really excited to be joining Saracens, a club I have always admired.""
"'After impressing at Kingsholm, Williams was offered a new deal to stay at the club beyond the end of the season, but has instead opted to pursue a new challenge elsewhere. 'The Welshman will depart with the best wishes of everyone at the club when the time comes, but in the meantime, is entirely dedicated to ending his time at Gloucester Rugby on a high.'"
Tomos Williams will leave Gloucester Rugby at the end of the 2025–26 season and will join Saracens the following summer. Williams was named Premiership Player of the Season and served as Gloucester captain after signing in 2024. Saracens described him as a world-class operator and an outstanding addition to their squad. Williams was selected for the British and Irish Lions tour but returned home early with a hamstring injury after scoring two tries in a warm-up match and the first tour game. Gloucester offered a new deal, but Williams opted to pursue a new challenge elsewhere.
