Urgent warning on catastrophic failures' as dogs die in similar London fires
Briefly

Recent fires in Feltham and West Hampstead, triggered by catastrophic battery failures of e-bikes and e-scooters, led to the deaths of two dogs and significant property destruction. On February 4, a second-hand e-bike battery ignited in Feltham, with firefighters rescuing two dogs but finding a third dead. A previous incident on February 3 had a charging e-scooter battery catch fire in West Hampstead. Fortunately, no injuries to people were reported, highlighting a growing concern regarding battery safety and the potential for devastating consequences.
It's extremely fortunate that no people have been seriously hurt but a dog was sadly found dead at the scene of each fire.
Both of these fires were caused by catastrophic battery failures. When these batteries fail, they can cause ferocious fires, and the consequences can be devastating.
