Two rape suspects arrested with new facial recognition cameras in Lewisham
Briefly

As part of our ongoing commitment to listen to our communities and tackle crime in their areas, we deployed our Live Facial Recognition (LFR) technology on the streets of Lewisham and Catford yesterday, Tuesday, 26 March.
LFR is a precision technology that allows images of a person passing the deployment to be compared against a bespoke watchlist of people who the police wish to speak to.
The Met claims the technology helps officers to fight crime by identifying criminals.
Privacy campaigners have branded the cameras as intrusive' and ineffective compared to other policing methods.
