Shafaz Khan, 55, and Choudhry Rashied, 58, were caught smuggling four Indian men in a hidden compartment of a van, loaded with used tyres.
The Border Force officers discovered the migrants living in squalid conditions, on a urine-soaked mattress with no access to fresh air, food, or water.
Home Office official Chris Foster commended Border Force for their intervention, stating the smugglers could have avoided arrest without their vigilance.
Dame Angela Eagle highlighted the exploitation of individuals by smugglers, emphasizing the dangerous conditions under which they were transported for financial gain.
