Noise levels on the Underground, especially on the Victoria line, have surpassed 100 decibels, prompting TfL to invest £30 million to mitigate this alarming situation.
Tube drivers, backed by the RMT union, plan to protest by slowing trains on the Victoria line to voice their concerns about excessive noise levels harming their health.
The ASLEF union highlighted that noise levels on the Victoria line exceed legal limits, and stressed the urgent need for solutions or further actions will be pursued.
The noise issue not only affects the health of tube drivers but also threatens operational efficiency, potentially disrupting the already scheduled frequency of 36 trains per hour.
