The Silvertown Tunnel, which opened in April, is London's first sub-Thames crossing in 30 years and cost £2.2 billion. To celebrate its opening, several bus routes and Docklands Light Railway services were made free for a year. The free travel period has now been extended until May 26. Passengers can ride specific DLR sections and bus routes without charge, but must tap in and out with an Oyster or contactless card to receive a refund. A bike bus through the tunnel will also remain free.
