Covent Garden in England is a corruption of 'Convent', having first emerged as a fruit and veg wholesale market belonging to 'the garden of the Abbot and Convent of Westminster'. Almost 200 years later, the food market now known as Covent Garden Market was established in Ontario, though the etymology is unknown.
