There's a Harry Potter themed Christmas Tree in King's Cross station
"Yes, they've put a shop in the middle of the station and stuck a tree on top. OK, it's a very nicely decorated tree, and there's some very nice and clever Diagon Alley style shop windows around the sides, but undeniably, this is a shop with a tree on top. So, if you look at it from one side, it's a lovely Harry Potter themed Christmas tree."
"A Harry Potter themed Christmas Tree has arrived at King's Cross station, that is both delightful and yet also manages to be a bit depressing. Accepting that outside the home, Christmas decorations in shops and high streets are there to encourage shopping, the trees themselves usually stand aloof from the commerce around them. A central meeting point and focus, but not on the same level as a sales tool."
"At the time of my visit, a very bored-looking sales assistant was inside waiting for people to buy something. You can cringe at the blatant commercialisation, but the people thronging to pose with a luggage trolley at Platform 9¾ will love it. The Christmas Tree shop is open until 5th January 2026. There's also a QR code in the shop windows that you can scan to win a trip to their studio tour, or just click here to enter."
A Harry Potter themed Christmas tree stands at King's Cross station combining a large decorated tree with a functioning retail shop housed beneath it. The base features Diagon Alley style shop windows and a green sorting hat motif tops the tree. From one perspective it reads as a festive central meeting point; from another it presents as a commercialised shop with a tree on top. A bored-looking sales assistant was observed inside waiting for customers. The installation runs until 5 January 2026 and includes a QR code entry to win a studio tour trip.
