Around 125 firefighters responded promptly to a fire at Somerset House, getting it under control by late afternoon. Thankfully, all staff and the public were safe.
Jonathan Reekie, director of Somerset House Trust, confirmed the fire was contained to a small corner of the west wing, which housed no artworks and was mainly offices.
