Neil Roarty, an analyst from Stocklytics commented, "Beer prices are a good indicator of the cost of living, and this analysis shows how expensive London is compared to other large towns and cities in the UK. For the average pint to be nearly £1 - or 20% - more expensive than anywhere else, it demonstrates the additional price pressure that's on those who live, work, and travel to the Capital."
The national comparison indicates an average pint in London now costs £6.50, showing a significant rise from £4.50 in 2021, which marks over a 44% increase in just three years.
Belfast is also facing high prices for a pint, with an average cost of £5.55, while Bristol sees an average of £5.25, illustrating a trend of rising costs in major cities.
In contrast, Blackpool and Southend-On-Sea average just £3.25 for a pint, positioning them as attractive options for spenders seeking better value.
