The Russian mezzo-soprano Aigul Akhmetshina, at only 28, holds the title of the youngest artist to perform as Carmen at the Metropolitan Opera and the Royal Opera House in London.
Raised in a small village in Russia, Akhmetshina's journey began when she moved to Ufa to study music at 14, later impressing at a voice competition in Moscow and eventually securing a position with the Royal Opera's Jette Parker program in London.
