The big transport changes happening in south east London for 2025
Briefly

The Silvertown Tunnel is set to open in spring 2025, providing a major infrastructure boost in south east London by linking Newham and Greenwich. This 1.4 km tunnel will cost £4 per crossing during peak times for drivers and cyclists, enhancing travel efficiency in a heavily congested area.
A new Superloop bus route between Grove Park and Canary Wharf will be introduced later this year, offering an alternative to the DLR. This route will serve key areas including Lee Station and Blackheath, and aims to improve public transport accessibility for commuters traveling to Canary Wharf.
Commencing in March 2025, the Orbit Clipper ferry service will provide a sustainable transport option connecting Rotherhithe and Canary Wharf. This all-electric ferry will accommodate 150 passengers and 100 bicycles, running frequently to offer a practical and eco-friendly commuting option across the river.
