Thames Water fined 67k for 'unsafe' central London works
Briefly

Thames Water has been fined £67,000 after being convicted of four counts of site safety failings that could endanger the public, according to Kensington and Chelsea council.
On arrival at First Street, officials found Thames Water had failed to fully enclose the work area, allowing the public access to an open excavation, posing a significant safety risk.
Cllr Cem Kemahli stated the prosecution sends a clear message that safety must always come first for those carrying out street works in the borough.
While Thames Water received substantial fines, they were acquitted of other charges, prompting the Council to consider appealing some verdicts related to unsafe practices.
