Transport for London (TfL) is proposing the permanent withdrawal of the night bus route 319, which has been suspended since the pandemic. This decision is driven by underutilization of the service prior to the pandemic, as officials assert that the reintroduction of the route cannot be justified. The day version of the route will remain operational. A consultation period for the public to share feedback on this change is open for six weeks, ending on February 23, and it is emphasized that existing passengers will not be impacted, given the presence of alternative night transport options.
TfL plans to permanently withdraw the night bus route 319, citing limited usage pre-pandemic and the route's current suspension since that time.
Transport bosses stated the decision to withdraw the 319 route was justified as it was hardly used before, and its removal would not affect passengers.
The consultation will allow passengers to comment on the planned withdrawal of the 319 route, which will close on February 23.
Despite the withdrawal of the 319 night bus, other night routes and the night Tube service will continue to provide options for travelers.
