Serving Met Police officer found guilty of harassment
Briefly

PC Gary Chant, a serving officer with the Metropolitan Police, was found guilty of harassment for sending multiple unwanted messages to a woman he knew.
Detective Chief Superintendent Christina Jessah affirmed the commitment of the Met to high standards of behavior from officers, stating, 'That standard was not met by PC Chant; his actions, in harassing the victim, were wholly unacceptable.'
Following PC Chant's arrest, he was suspended from duty and is set to return to court for sentencing, with misconduct proceedings expected thereafter.
Jessah emphasized the importance of addressing predatory or abusive behavior, asserting that such conduct will be dealt with regardless of whether it's inside or outside the Met.
