Saracens lock Hugh Tizard has been suspended for six games after accepting a charge of dangerous play stemming from a red card incident against Newcastle.
The independent disciplinary panel noted Tizard's actions were 'seriously reckless'; however, they recognized that he did not intend to hurt his opponent.
Tizard's initial four-match provisional suspension has now been extended, and he will miss key matches against Bristol and Munster in January.
Despite the potential for a 12-match sanction for such offenses, Tizard's remorse and clean disciplinary history led to a 50% reduction in his suspension.
