Rough sleeping in London up by a third as capital faces 'homelessness emergency'

Data released by the Government shows that an estimated 1,132 people were sleeping rough in the capital on a single night in autumn 2023 an increase of 32 per cent on the previous year.
However, it is clear the Government policy of trying to move asylum seekers out of hotels and hostels in 28 days is resulting in a spike in rough sleeping numbers in Westminster's case by more than 900 per ce.
