Rise in accidents involving London fire engines prompts warning to pedestrians and cyclists
Briefly

Of the 10 incidents this year, six have involved pedestrians, three cyclists, and one a person riding an electric scooter.
One incident on August 23 saw a cyclist rushed to hospital after being hit by a fire engine responding to a 999 call. The man, thought to be in his 50s, sustained a head injury. LFB was found to be at fault for the crash, the FOI response shows. A month later, on September 26, an elderly woman walking in London Road, Thornton Heath, was hit by a fire engine responding to an emergency call. She is understood to have suffered "life-changing injuries" in the crash, said Scotland Yard. The FOI response shows "disputed liability".
