Residents of the Lesnes Estate, facing dire conditions with cockroaches, mice, and mould, have been living in limbo as regeneration plans stall, leaving them stressed and uncertain about their future.
Zoe Garbett reported that while roughly 200 residents remain in the Lesnes Estate, many homes are boarded-up, some kitchens are removed upon vacating, creating a disturbing environment plagued by fly-tipping and lack of maintenance.
The London Assembly member highlighted that residents have been left without resolution for about a decade regarding the estate's regeneration which has completely stalled, adversely affecting their health and exacerbating their sense of abandonment.
After handing a petition to Mayor Sadiq Khan, residents expressed their frustration over the ongoing delays and anxiously await progress on a plan that seems to have forgotten them.
