From April 2025, professional dog walkers at Nonsuch Park will need an annual license costing £200, allowing them to walk up to six dogs at once.
The introduction of the licensing scheme follows extensive public consultation, with nearly 1,000 responses highlighting the community's concern regarding dog walking in the park.
Councillor Louise Phelan emphasized the scheme aims to uphold the standards of professional dog walking, ensuring the park remains an enjoyable space for all.
The new licensing scheme is designed to protect the park's reputation, giving peace of mind to the community while supporting responsible dog walking practices.
