A new borough-wide public space protection order in Redbridge will mandate fines for catcalling and harassment, aiming to enhance safety for women and girls in the community.
Councillor Khayer Chowdhury emphasized, ‘This order is about making Redbridge safer for women and girls... We need proactive measures to ensure safety on our streets.’
Council leader Kam Rai stated the PSPO would restore public confidence in policing, saying, ‘Taking back our streets is essential for community safety and empowerment.’
