Police officers injured in Plymouth and disorder in Belfast as violence spreads

Devon and Cornwall police disclosed that masked anti-immigration protesters targeted a counter-demonstration with missiles, causing damage to a police van. Large masonry was thrown at officers during the unrest.
Acting Chief Constable praised the officers for responding to 'abhorrent, mindless criminal behaviour' with 'brave, robust policing' in Plymouth. 150 officers were deployed to manage the situation.
