The two foot-high sculpture of Dettori on Stradivarius, worth £18,500, was stolen in a targeted theft as thieves ignored other valuable artworks.
Gallery owner Tony Haynes described the theft as blatant, noting the thieves waited for people to clear before breaking in for the sculpture.
CCTV footage captured the crime, showing a suspect in a blue top who paid no attention to other expensive artworks like a £125,000 Warhol.
The weight of the sculpture indicated it was a planned theft, with the thief demonstrating knowledge of what to steal and how to navigate the gallery.
