London Ambulance Service responded to the incident at Beckenham Junction Railway Station with an officer and medic. Despite efforts, the person was pronounced dead at the scene.
To ensure the safety of emergency services, the electricity supply on the Bexleyheath line was temporarily switched off. This decision diverted trains between Lewisham and Dartford.
