GWR announced no train services between Reading and London Paddington on Sunday due to works on the new HS2 station and Network Rail track upgrades.
GWR's operations director described the service situation as "really complex," indicating reduced services and advising customers to travel on alternative days if possible.
Network Rail's director emphasized the importance of the upgrades, asserting they are essential for reducing disruption and improving the resilience of this railway line.
Additional works are planned for November and December to further enhance the railway infrastructure, addressing issues like drainage and track conditions.
