The housing development around the Millwall football club will see an additional £17.17 million contributed by the developer towards the Overground station, leading to a reduction in affordable housing units in the second development phase.
The total number of new homes in the development has been revised to 3,518, with the affordable homes decreasing from 1,232 to 1,132, amounting to 32.6% by units and 39% by habitable room.
Transport for London will receive a total of £25 million from the developer for various transport upgrades, including the new Overground station, with previous government funding from the Housing Infrastructure Fund also involved.
Initially, the station was anticipated to cost around £21.2 million, partially covered by a £10 million contribution from the housing developer, but later adjustments in developer contributions and funding agreements were made.
