Transport for London (TfL) is set to reinstate the Central line's prior weekday timetable from January 27, due to successful repairs on faulty motors that previously caused service disruptions. Morning and evening peak trains will increase from 21 to between 25 and 28 services per hour on the core route. While improvements are noted, the weekend timetable remains unchanged, and further repairs will continue to ensure better service in the future. This reboot follows a broader £500 million upgrade project for the entire line's fleet.
This uplift has been possible because the repair work on the motors continues to progress thanks to the hard work of our teams, who have been working tirelessly with suppliers to return faulty trains back to service as quickly as possible.
Despite the uplift, the number of trains available still remains lower than is necessary to run a full timetable.
