Mrs. Crisp stated, "We honestly thought that there would be enough there for the years that we would need," about the financial struggle due to her mother's diminishing funds for care.
Describing her own financial situation, she said, "I'm on a pension, and my husband has Alzheimer's... I can't commit to taking that extra on... it's already stressful."
The council determined that the care home's costs exceeded what they would fund, forcing Mrs. Crisp to consider moving her mother or covering an additional £80 weekly.
