Detective Constable Kamal Baldeo was found to have engaged in non-consensual penetrative sex with a woman after denying wrongdoing, leading to his dismissal from the Met Police.
Baldeo alleged that the victim expressed consent by laying him on top of her while they were both partially clothed; however, the panel disregarded this defense without an express statement of consent.
The misconduct panel emphasized that the victim promptly reported the incident, which they deemed factually akin to rape, making it improbable that she would lie about it.
The panel found that while there was no evidence of Baldeo's general propensity towards predatory behavior, he did engage in non-consensual penetrative sex at all times.
