The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for England and Wales, indicating continued disruptive winds and potential power cuts as Storm Darragh impacts the UK.
According to Met Office meteorologist Alex Burkill, while the storm has moved southeast, tightly-packed isobars suggest that very windy weather will persist across much of the country today.
Wind gusts could reach 60-70mph along coastal areas this morning, with risks of difficult driving conditions and flooding alerts adding to the dangers caused by the storm.
Burkill noted that while it's 'not quite the calm after the storm,' conditions are calmer than previous days, but local weather continues to pose challenges for residents.
