Officers found Sebastiaan James-Kraan with a gunshot injury in Hanwell and he died in the hospital.
Detectives believe the victim was involved in an altercation with a group of men and was shot once.
Family described James-Kraan as a kind, loving, gentle man with a heart of gold, cruelly taken away at a young age.
No arrests made yet, post-mortem examination pending, and Detective Chief Inspector Jolley seeks witnesses' assistance.
