M1 traffic: Motorway to be closed overnight for three weeks
Briefly

The northbound carriageway of the M1 will be closed overnight between Junction 1 at Brent Cross roundabout (A406) and Junction 3 (London Gateway Services) until early May.
Heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) can use the outside lane during inside lane closures, between 260 meters north of the slip road at Junction 2 and 130 meters north of the exit of the northernmost slip road at London Gateway Services.
The reason for the closures is for the safety of contractors working on footbridges. Work is expected to take three weeks starting on or after today (Saturday, April 13).
Traffic affected by the closures will be diverted using the A406, A41, A1 and the A41 to Junction 4 of the M1. The altered routes, lane running, and diversion points will be marked clearly with signs while work is carried out.
