This month marks the 150th anniversary of one of East London's largest free parks, West Ham Park, maintained without local council cost by an agreement with the City of London Corporation.
The park's history dates back to the 16th century, evolving from a manor house to vast botanical gardens, before being donated by John Gurney to the City for public use.
