L ondoners are set to enjoy a scorching start to summer with temperatures tipped to climb into the mid 20s centigrade next week.The Met Office is forecasting a jump in temperatures as summer officially starts on Thursday, June 1, with peak temperatures during the week not expected to dip below 23C.Rachel Ayers, a senior meteorologist at the UK's national weather service, said: The warm weather . . . is due to high pressure bringing fine and bright weather across the UK and with the high-pressure system currently centred to the west of the UK.
