London weather: Capital forecast for first cold snap of the autumn with temperatures to drop to 3C
Briefly

The Met Office has warned that the colder nights ahead are expected in London, with temperatures forecast to drop to as low as 3C, reflecting what is around average for this time of year.
After a bright start to the week with sunshine until Thursday, the weather will shift to an overcast day on Friday before settling into a gloomy weekend with a forecasted high of just 8C on Sunday.
Residents of the south of England have reported seeing only one hour of sunshine on average since the beginning of November, indicating a significant drop in usual sunlight.
Stephen Dixon of the Met Office explained that atmospheric gloom occurs when high pressure traps moisture, resulting in prolonged dull and cloudy conditions, punctuated by areas of mist and fog.
